Secondary School Athletic Trainer Jacksonville, FL

Can’t get enough of the Friday night lights? Love seeing an athlete come back from an injury to hit the winning buzzer three-pointer at districts? Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program is beginning to recruit for positions within Duval County for the 2017/2018 school year. The county offers 15 sports for females and 14 sports for males and makes up the Gateway Conference.

Job Description/Duties:
This is a 40 hour per week job on a 10 month yearly renewable contract. Work weeks will be semi-flexible depending upon the practice/game coverage needs. Athletic trainers will work in close relation to the schools’ Principal and Athletic Director to determine schedule and faculty obligations. Athletic training duties include, but are not limited to:
• Organize and manage Athletic Training facility
• Maintain a clean and orderly healthcare facility
• Follow established policies and procedures for athletic trainers set forth by DCPS
• Accurate and timely reporting of athletic injuries using online reporting tool
• Maintain good records and documentation
• Establish and manage emergency action plans
• Coordinates AED program
• Prioritize game and practice athletic training coverage and services
• Conduct pre-season meetings with coaches
• Participate in annual athletic screening program
• Maintain timely communication with Team Physician, district Athletic Training Coordinator, Principal, athletic director, coaches, parents, and athletes

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS in Athletic Training from an accredited CAATE program
• Licensed athletic trainer in the state of Florida
• BOC Certified and NATA member
• 2 years of experience in the secondary school setting
