Applicant must hold current BOC certification and be licenses to practice Athletic Training in Tennessee.
Applicant must have a Doctoral degree.
Applicant must have a minimum of three years of clinical and academic experience.
Previous experience as a program director is preferred.
Athletic Training Program Director Job Description:
Insure ongoing compliance with the CAATE standards
Supervise and evaluate Medical Director, staff, faculty and preceptors
Monitor the curriculum and course offerings and determine the course schedules
Propose curriculum changes and move through the appropriate university channels
Develop and manage program budget
Direct the program's annual reviews and self-studies
Develop and maintain records and other documents important to theprogram
Maintain student and program liability insurance
Ensure compliance with OSHA and technical standards
Review grading procedures and oversee student grievances
Preview University catalog, admissions material and other public documents
Maintain appropriate student to faculty ratios
Perform duties in accordance with the philosophy, policies and procedures of the program
Facilitate communication within the department and among the departments
Enforce program policies and procedures
Liaison between program and College of Health Sciences (CHS) Dean
Participate in professional development activities
Coordinate the admissions process into the professional phase of the program
Counsel and advise students regarding academic matters
Assure the availability of remedial instruction
Recommend to the CHS Dean immediate and long term needs of the program
Oversee the hiring/securing of faculty and clinical preceptors
Serve on University committees
All other duties as assigned by the CHS Dean
