Full Time Assistant Athletic Trainer/Teacher

Overview:

Wekiva High School in Apopka, FL is looking for a full time Certified Athletic Trainer. This position is for both a teaching and athletic training position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-To provide immediate care and prevention of athletic injuries to all student-athletes.

-Performs evaluations of all athletic injuries that occur at practice or competition of athletic events.

-Implement rehabilitation techniques to help strengthen and facilitate recovery for injured student-athletes. (Including, but not limited to therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, etc.)

-Document evaluative findings and administered treatments.

-Clean and maintain treatment areas and work spaces.

-Effectively communicates with the student-athlete, family, physicians, and coaches regarding injuries and their ability to return to practice/competition.

Qualifications:

-Strong communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized verbal and written interactions with student athletes, family, physicians, and coaches.

-Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.

Education and/or Experience

-Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from a CAATE accredited university Athletic Training Program.

-Temporary or Professional Teaching Certificate from the Florida Department of Education.

Certificates/Licenses

-BOC certified

-Licensure by the Florida Department of Health, or eligible to be licensed in the state of Florida.

-Must hold a current BLS for healthcare provider for CPR certification.
