Job SummaryDirects the rehabilitation and treatment programs for all injured football student athletes as dictated by Indiana University Physicians and/or Indiana University Head Football Athletic Trainer. Develops and manages treatment and rehabilitation programs for football student athletes following surgery in conjunction with Orthopedic Consultants. Work with Orthopedic Surgeons to develop post surgical rehabilitation protocols specific to IU football student athletes. Oversees all rehabilitation programs performed by other staff members, including monitoring player progress. Mentor staff on rehabilitation techniques. Monitors players during practice and provides treatment/rehabilitation as needed while on practice field. Researches and seeks to implement new rehabilitation techniques, methods of rehabilitation and rehabilitation equipment. Provides staff education and development to Indiana University athletic training staff members regarding rehabilitation and treatment techniques. Documents all rehabilitation programs and treatments into the Electronic Medical Records system ( EMR ) and monitors others’ input of rehabilitation information in the EMR . Work in conjunction with Strength and Conditioning staff on return to weight room protocols for injured student athletes.

Required QualificationsREQUIRED : Licensed Physical Therapist dually certified as an Athletic Trainer and three years experience in professional or Division I athletics.

Manual Therapy skills. Graston Certification.

Preferred QualificationsNSCA , NASM or SCS certification as well as a background in the area of strength and conditioning; Extensive background in sports orthopedic rehabilitation; Five years of experience
