Job description
Position Summary
Responsible for a continuum of services providing care to patients requiring mobility training and strengthening. Utilizes rehab process to promote and restore optimal health and well-being of the patient.


Minimum Education Requirements
• Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Physiology or other related field.

Minimum Experience Requirements
• 2 year’s experience as an athletic trainer
• Experience with professional athletic preferred

License/Certifications
• Current Certification by the board of Certification for Athletic Trainers Current
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart
• Registered as an Athletic trainer

Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
• Responsible for all aspects of day to day health care and health care administration for the players*
• Attend practices and games including away games and traveling during the pre-season, in season and post season*
• Provide, maintenance programs and preventative workout programs throughout the year for players to bring back from an injury or prevent an injury*
• Communicate with coaches and managers as needed for injury updates*
• Maintain accurate records*
• Pre-season concussion testing and education*
• Schedule medical appointments for the players*
• Write policies, procedures and emergency action plans*
• Treat athletic injuries (chronic and acute), including prevention, assessment*
• Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment*
• Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists*
• Evaluate athletes' readiness to play, and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted*
• Performs a variety of best practice and evidence based therapeutic interventions to address the unique rehabilitation needs of each patient. Establishes appropriate treatment plan with measurable and attainable goals and time frames by collaborating with patient, family and other members of the health care team including discharge planning. Selects and implements therapy activities per plan of care to ensure that patient, family and therapy goals are met.*
• Recognizes individual limitations and capabilities and utilizes available resources. Evaluates patients' learning style and appropriately teaches patients skills and techniques required for participation in physical therapy.*
• Evaluates assigned patients and develops treatment plans including specific goals and activities, reassessing and modifying plans as necessary based on patient's current level of function and makes appropriate disposition recommendations.*

Physical Requirements
• Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
